A84-229’s first flight was on 22 November 1956 at the Government Aircraft Factories. It was allocated to 2 Sqd RAAF and served with them in Malaya at RAAF Butterworth.

This Canberra was eventually bought by Steve Picatti (USA) and the story of the trials and tribulations that followed is told by Les Wilson. Les was one of the team that worked on A84-229 making its transfer to the US possible.

Read Les’ remarkable story here.
