RAAF B.20 – A84-247

This Australian built Canberra had its first flight on 16 May 1958. It was delivered to the charge of the RAAF on 8 August of that year.

A84-247 is recorded as having flown operations in Vietnam so it must have been with the RAAF’s 2 Sqd. As a “warbird” it is now stored at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra.

As can be seen from Neil’s photo, A84-247 is stored in excellent condition but sans wings – although you can see the starboard wing, minus the Avon, in the foreground. The photo was taken in 1995, does anybody know if the wings have been put back on?
