B.62, FAA B-102

Originally in RAF charge as WJ713 this Canberra was built in 1953. It served initially with the RAF Flying College before moving on to the College of Air Warfare. It next joined 85 Sqd before finally being transferred to 360 Sqd. WJ713 was sold to BAC for conversion to Argentinian B.62 specifications in 1968 and was delivered to 1 Sqd FAA in November 1970. It is shown here taking off for a display at the 1970 SBAC Farnborough Air Show. Note the rocket projectile pod under the wing showing its intended COIN role.
