WH725 is preserved at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, Cambridgeshire – a non-flyer more’s the pity as it looks in good condition. Airframe is probably out of hours though as it was flying in service for 19 years.

This is another Canberra with a fairly undistinguished career. In service first with 15 Sqn (RAF Conningsby 1953), WH725 later transferred to 50 Sqn at RAF Binbrook later moving to RAF Upwood with the squadron. It was eventually struck off charge in 1972 and moved to the Imperial War Museum store at RAF Duxford. It has been refurbished in its 50 Sqn guise and is now on permanent static display at Duxford.

Note the 50 Sqn badge on the tip tank, a yellow handled sword piercing a red “50”.
